Rick Clemmer is Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-CEO of SEC EDGE. Most recently, Mr. Clemmer was responsible for leading NXP Semiconductors as CEO and president, a position he held from 2009 through May 2020. He continues to serve NXP in a strategic advisory role, as well as holding board positions at several technology companies. Mr. Clemmer has also previously served as CEO of Agere Systems Inc. Prior to joining Agere Systems, he held a number of executive leadership positions at Texas Instruments and Quantum Corp.

Digital Security pioneer and Semiconductor industry leader, widely recognized for the introduction of SIM cards into the GSM cellular networks in the 90’s, building the first cell phone location-based services company in the 2000’s, and dedicated the last 15 years into driving digital transformation in the areas of cybersecurity, data privacy and edge computing solutions in mobile phones, IoT, Automotive, Industrial Automation.
Previous to SecEdge, Sami held key executive positions. Among them; General Manager Security ICs business at NXP Semiconductors, General Manager Fiber Optic transceivers business at Broadcom, General Manager Advanced Solution Group at Renesas Electronics, and Managing Director Telecom Smart cards and Systems at Schlumberger.
Philip Attfield
Chief Technology Officer
Phil Attfield brings a strong background in computing, networking, security and systems modeling. He has more than 25 years of industry experience in large enterprises and small entrepreneurial firms.
Starting his career at Nortel, Phil was a member of its scientific staff and developed software tools and in-house products for modeling, synthesis and verification of telecom and network equipment hardware.
Later, Phil founded Signal 9 Solutions, a firm that pioneered PC/desktop firewalls and created the Conseal brand of security products. Phil served as CEO until the company was acquired by McAfee® during the rapid broadband expansion phase of the Internet. Phil then joined the Phantom Works/R&D division of The Boeing Company where he led the team responsible for the development of a large-scale security policy and management framework. Following his work at Boeing, Phil founded Sequitur Labs, a company focused on developing seminal technologies to improve trust in a connected world, reducing the cost and complexity to build secure embedded and IoT devices. He served as CEO until its acquisition in 2023.
His computer and network engineering experience has qualified Phil for a number of high profile roles in the field of digital forensics. He served as expert witness for the Department of Justice in the prosecution of United States v. Gorshkov, an international cybercrime case that serves as a bellwether case for subsequent prosecution of cybercrimes. Phil is a frequent keynote speaker at international security conferences and facilitated workshops and discussions for the G8 Crime in Cyberspace events in Germany and Japan.
Imad Hammoud

Seasoned executive with a proven track record in driving growth and innovation. Imad is highly skilled in strategic leadership, team building, business development, operational excellence, and entrepreneurship. He held various leadership roles in R&D, product management, business development, and sales.
During his tenure at NXP, Imad successfully grew the Apple business from $30M to over $900M in 5 years. He has also led teams to develop and launch successful programs in various industries, including manufacturing, semiconductors, software, and security.
Imad is a passionate entrepreneur and investor. He has supported multiple startups and is an active investor in promising ventures, including Sway, Nex3, Flip, Ample, and Reach Labs. He is also a limited partner and advisor with Transform VC, focusing on investing in underrepresented founders with significant social and climate impact.
Steve Owen
Operations Partner
As an independent leadership and technology consultant, Steve Owen advises companies on various aspects of leadership, executive development, project management, and organizational development. He draws on experience and technology expertise from over 25 years in semiconductors and technology companies globally.
With over 16 years at the executive level, Steve is a board-level international executive with extensive global leadership and organizational experience an S&P Top Semiconductor Company, developing leadership teams of over 1800 employees in technology sales and marketing. Over the last 18 years, he led teams that delivered many secure contactless payment systems such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, among others. He has also led strategic change management programs during M&A activities and company restructuring for both growth cycles and downturns while delivering excellent quarterly results in revenue growth, profitability and cost control.
In addition to his professional work, Steve lends his time to the professional growth of others. At NXP, he led the Women in Technology ERG on behalf of the company for several years. From 2016 to 2022, he focused on succession planning and new college hires for the future sales and marketing leadership of the company.
Abhijeet Rane
Vice President Sales & Business Development
Abhijeet Rane is currently Vice President of Business Development at Sec Edge, Inc. He brings a strong background in marketing strategy and strategic management. Prior to Sec Edge, he was Vice President of Business Development at Sequitur Labs Inc. Before that, Abhijeet ran his own startup building “teen” market centric mobile apps. He founded and ran a data analytics consulting firm landing clients such as Microsoft, Intel, HP, Cisco and IBM. Abhijeet worked as a marketing consultant with various consulting firms and was recognized as a leading market analyst for the SMB space in the late 90’s. Abhijeet was an early employee at vJungle, the first Cloud platform company in the late 1990s and acquired by StreamServe in late 2002. Abhijeet started his career as a research analyst with IDC in 1991.
In his spare time Abhijeet is an avid photographer, loves traveling and acting in regional ethnic (Indian) theater.
Nad Ramatchandirane
Vice President IoT Solutions
Nad Ramatchandirane, Vice President of IoT Solutions at SecEdge, is a tech and business development executive with 20+ years global experience. Nad served as co-founder and CEO of Confia Systems, a cybersecurity startup, and as vice president or senior product manager with large and small companies in the security, payment and semi-conductor technologies in the Silicon Valley. Companies include Schlumberger/Gemalto, ActivIdentity, Hypercom/Verifone, Bitfone, Renesas, Trusted Objects, and more.
At his IoT startup, Nad developed a cloud-based solution to handle payments, real-time business and consumer data, and information security. In addition, he established the technical direction to deliver a compelling, secure connected solution to the customers and owners/operators of unattended machines. Prior to his startup experience, Nad worked in vice president of business development, product management and technology development roles, or as technology consultant for semi-conductor, payment, and wireless mobile companies in the tech industry. He also managed a technology development center to develop smart card solutions for Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), and payment networks in the USA for Gemalto (now Thales).
Omar Habbal
Vice President CloudSIM Solutions
Omar Habbal embarked on his professional journey in the chip industry, working with CryptoCard and SIM Card technologies. During this time, he also took on the responsibility of chairing security committees in prominent telecom standardization organizations such as ETSI, 3GPP, and CDMAOne.
Driven by his passion for innovation and security, Omar went on to establish a DAM (Database Access Monitoring) company, Context22, where he assumed the role of CEO. Simultaneously, he played a crucial role as a co-founder of Finance Realty Tieback, where he held the position of CTO.
Omar’s educational background includes a MCS degree with a major in Mathematics, and he also holds an MBA from IAE France. His academic accomplishments, coupled with his insightful and focused approach to business, have paved the way for a remarkable career spanning over 30 years. Throughout his journey, he has consistently achieved notable milestones, successfully building start-ups and leading major programs within the corporate landscape.
Larry O’Connell

Larry O’Connell is Vice President of Edge AI Solutions at Sec Edge, Inc.. Larry has more than 20 years of experience in product management, marketing and business development, primarily in Industrial IoT applications. Prior to Sec Edge, Larry was Vice President of Marketing at Sequitur Labs. He also led the Ethernet switch silicon product management and applications engineering teams at Vitesse Semiconductor and Microsemi Corporation (acquired by Microchip). At Microchip, Larry drove silicon product and go-to-market strategy around industrial and automotive networking. Prior to Vitesse, Larry started and grew Cisco System’s industrial ethernet switching business, expanding the solution into applications for industrial automation, energy, and video surveillance. Larry also served as CEO of Nexistant, a videoconferencing software application startup.
Mike Hendrick
Vice President Engineering
Mike Hendrick has over 15 years of experience in Telecommunications. Over his career, he has worked in many areas within the telecommunications industry from Engineering to Product Development to IT.
In his roles at T-Mobile, Mike partnered with many companies such as Ericsson, HTC, and Samsung to deliver products such as the first GPRS network in North America, T-Mobile’s MyFaves product, and self-service applications for smart phones. In addition, he worked in standardization efforts to help establish the GERAN specification for allowing mobile services over WiFi.
Mike started his career in antenna and RF design at Raytheon/TI. He graduated with a MS in electrical engineering from Auburn University.
Julia Narvaez
Director of Product Engineering and Delivery
Julia Narvaez has over 20 years of experience in software-development project management, and extensive experience in information management and risk analysis. She worked for the last 12 years at Sequitur Labs as Director of Product Engineering and Delivery, where she drove quality assurance of Sequitur’s embedded systems. In addition, Julia was responsible for technical documentation and project management.
Before working for Sequitur, Julia was Research Assistant at the University of Washington, Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, where she was a consultant on research projects for government agencies such as the Department of Energy laboratories, NSF, and authored published research findings. Prior to Sequitur, Julia cofounded Viva-Technology, directing the development of web-based applications for customers of a diversity of industries. Earlier in her career, Julia undertook a variety of technical roles, from developer to project manager.
Jennifer Walken
Marketing Communications Manager
Jennifer Walken has 20 years of experience in outbound marketing tactics for startups, including tradeshow management, branding, web and graphic design, and video production. She worked for Sequitur Labs for more than 10 years as Marketing Communications Manager, where she developed Sequitur’s branding identity, communication policies, and supported the vice president of marketing’s initiatives.
Prior to working for Sequitur Labs, Jennifer managed several client accounts as a freelance web designer. Clients included regional banks, restaurants, and several non-profit organizations. In addition, Jennifer managed several auto dealership websites based throughout the world while at The Cobalt Group. Prior to her career expansion into web design, Jennifer was a member of a small, but very robust, marketing team at Calypso Medical where she helped launch the medical device that would change the approach to radiation therapy delivery.
Jennifer has a certificate in Public Relations from the University of Washington, two AAS-T degrees in Web Design and Web Development from Seattle Central Community College, and a B.S. in Art with a focus in Industrial Design from James Madison University.
